Several of the portraits were shot during batting practice by inserting my camera lens into the batting cage – today this is no longer permitted for credentialed photographers. Before games, players used runways between the clubhouse and field.  Many graciously autographed balls, trading cards, and photos for me.

The All-Star Games in San Francisco (1984) and Oakland (1987) were very special. It was a two day event with current and retired players.  In the 1984 92 page All-Star Game magazine, I was able to collect 73 autographs!  There were 17 future Hall of Famers and 8 already in the Hall of Fame.
